WINDHAM and PERHAM Betty L. Wright, 74, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2007, at a Scarborough health care facility. She was born April 21, 1933, in Washburn, the daughter of Earl and Abbie (Hanson) Carter. She worked as a USDA government inspector at McCains Foods. Betty worked with the youth fellowship at the Dunntown Advent Christian Church, and served as a deaconess and Sunday school teacher for many years. She was a member of the Women’s Home and Foreign Missions Society. Betty is survived by her husband, Ronald of Windham; a daughter, Rhonda Schaefer and her husband, George, of Windham; a son, Barry Wright and his wife, Kimberley, of Mapleton; three granddaughters, Melissa Soucier and her husband, Anthony, of Presque Isle, Elizabeth and Emily Wright of Mapleton; two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Cassidy Soucier; a sister, Verdella Fox and her husband, Kenneth, of Washburn; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Alden and Clayton Carter; and an infant sister, Phyllis. Relatives and friends may call 1-2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, where a funeral service will be held 2 p.m. with the Revs. Kenneth Fox and George McLaughlin officiating. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Perham. A reception will be held immediately after the burial at Dunntown Advent Christian Church.
