HOULTON – Martha Virgie Barton, 82, died peacefully Sept. 4, 2007, and passed into the loving arms of her Savior Jesus Christ. She was born Aug. 8, 1925, in Fort Kent, the daughter of Archibald S. and Virginia (Martin) Virgie. Martha graduated from Caribou High School and then from Ricker Junior College in 1947, with an associate’s degree in business. She was employed by Houlton Regional Hospital for 23 years, starting at Aroostook General Hospital. She was dearly loved by her children and grandchildren. Martha is survived by her two children and their families, Gordon and Pam Barton and sons, Eric and Brian, and Gene and Jane Tvenge and daughter, Sarena. She was predeceased by her parents and her two brothers, Dr. Wilfred Virgie and Archie Virgie. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev.
