OAKFIELD – Beverly D. “Bev” Clark, 74, died March 23, 2004, at Houlton. He was born Oct. 30, 1929, in Houlton, the son of Charles and Naomi (Mosley) Clark. Bev graduated from Oakfield High School in 1947, Aroostook State Normal School in 1950, received his master’s in education in 1981 from the University of Maine in Orono, and he taught school or was principal for 37 years at schools in Oakfield, Dedham and Houlton. He was a member of the Maine State Elementary Principal Association, serving as treasurer for 12 years. He was a member of the board of directors of Eastern Maine Electric Co-op, and S.A.C.S. school board. Bev enjoyed traveling, reading, snowmobiling and was an avid gardener, and painted houses during the summer. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Cora Shields Clark of Oakfield; four children, Michael E. Clark and Anne MacAllese of Standish, and children, Peter and his wife, Beth, Justin and Hannah; Jayne Clark and her husband, Jack Ross, of Rio Vista, Texas; Julie Putnam of Oakfield, and her daughters, Kara and Chelsea; Jill and her husband, Kevin McGary, of Houlton, and their children, Ethan and Caleb; two great-granddaughters, Hailey and Jacy; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friends, Ralph Prince, Paul Shields and Bud and Lois MacDonald. He was predeceased by his parents; one son, Peter; two brothers; and one sister. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, at the Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton, where funeral services will be held 4 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Kirby Rushton officiating.
