CARIBOU – Blanche Cowett, 90, wife of the late Joseph Cowett, died Dec. 21, 2006, in Caribou. She was born Oct. 22, 1916, in Caribou, the daughter of Frank and Josephine (Sanfacon) Belanger. Blanche was educated in the Caribou school system and was a loving and devoted wife and mother to her family. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, where she was also a member of the Ladies of St. Anne, the Golden Age and a member of the Cary Medical Center Seniority Club. Starting at the age of 16, Blanche started cleaning homes in the local area for many families for more than 32 years. Blanche is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Fred and Doreen Cowett of Plymouth, Conn., and Roland and Vicki Cowett of Caribou; five daughters and three sons-in-law, Marline Cowett, Josephine and Wilfred St. Peter, Dolores and Roger Morin, Lorraine Morin and Patricia and Richard Chapman, all of Caribou; eight brothers, William Belanger of Plantsville, Conn., Joel Belanger of Manchester, Conn., Nelson Belanger, Wilson Belanger and Walter Belanger, all of South-ington, Conn., Aurelle Belanger of Scarborough, Richard Belanger of Wells and Bernard Belanger of Florida; three sisters, Doris Plourde of Caribou, Louise McNelly of Bristol, Conn., and Joan Specialle of Southington, Conn.; 22 grandchildren, 28 great-grand-children, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Clarence Cowett; three brothers, Lewis, Patrick and Edward Belanger; and by two sisters, Cecile Guerrette and Irene Lajoie. Friends may call 6-9 p.m. Friday at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou, with evening prayer services being held 6 p.m. by the officers and members of the Ladies of St. Anne. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with the Fr. David Raymond, officiating in a Mass of Christian burial.
