PENOBSCOT and LINCOLN Blanche E. True, 86, died May 31, 2007, at Penobscot Nursing Home after a long illness. She was born Oct. 27, 1920, in Springfield, the daughter of Asia and Linnie (Westgate) True. She attended Springfield schools, Castine Normal School and Presque Isle Normal School. She taught five years in Maine and 29 years in Braintree, Mass. In retirement, she returned to Springfield and was an active member of the Springfield Congregational Church. Blanche enjoyed work-ing with children. Whether it was her students or her nieces and nephews, she loved them and they loved her. She is survived by a brother, Dale True and his wife, Patricia, of Brooksville; a sister-in-law, Helen G. True of East Corinth; two nephews, Gordon True and his wife, Barbara, of Bangor and Robert True and his wife, Deborah, of Ashton, Md.; two nieces, Elizabeth True of Medway, Mass., and Catherine Moore of Fort Collins, Colo.; five great-nephews and two great-nieces. She was predeceased by her brothers, Edward and Frank; and her sisters, Dorothy, Bertha and Helen. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, June 22, at Springfield Congregational Church with the Rev. Carol Ahrens officiating. Burial will be in the family lot at Springfield Corner Cemetery.
