BLANCHE L. WHALEY CARIBOU – Blanche L. Whaley, 66, passed away unexpectedly, Sept. 23, 2005, at her Caribou residence. She was born July 25, 1939, at Allagash the daughter of Samuel and Rhoda (Walker) Walker. Blanche was employed for many years at Ken’s Chicken Coop, Yusef’s Restaurant, other local restaurants and Sears Roebuck in Presque Isle. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Donna Whaley of Manchester; her daughter and son-in-law, Staci and Scott Landeen of Stockholm; four grandsons, Mike O’Leary, Skyler Whaley, Scott Landeen Jr. and Shane Landeen; a granddaughter, Kylie Landeen; one brother, Murray Walker and his wife, Barbara, of Caribou; three sisters, Melissa Jandreau and her husband, Lester, of St. Francis, Lola McBreairty of Caribou and Iva Picard and her husband, Albert, of Bristol, Conn.; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and many cousins and friends. She will be especially missed by her best friend, Cindy Turner of Washburn. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Elwood Whaley; a son, Stuart Whaley; two sisters, Dora and Julia; two brothers, Lincoln and Reynold; and by one granddaughter, Serena. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2005, at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with the Fr. David Raymond, officiating in a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. A reception from friends and family will follow at the Holy Rosary Christian Center. In lieu of flowers, memory donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or to the Huntington’s Disease Society. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
