CHARLOTTE-TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. – Brian K. McDonald, 27, died unexpectedly on the morning of Dec. 6, 2003. He was born Oct. 12, 1976, in St. Paul, Minn., the son of Francine and the late Woody McDonald. Brian was in the graduating class of 1995 at Calais High School where he was a member of JMG, the soccer and wrestling teams. He started his career in the U.S. Air Force on Nov. 26, 1997 as a weather forecaster and ended his career as a staff sergeant. He was in the Air Force Honor Guard, earned the title of Airman of the Quarter, Airman of the Year, Non-Commissioned Officer of the Quarter and Forecaster of the Quarter during the duration of his career. Brian is survived by his wife, Desiree (Hill) McDonald, who followed him with his career in the U.S. Air Force. He is also survived by his sister, Amy Holmes, her husband, Abe and their daughter, Andrea; his brother, Dan McDonald, his wife, Carrie and their children, Sophia and Luke; his brother, Clayton McDonald and Brian’s “pet children,” Jasper and Daisy. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, at the Scott-Wilson Funeral Home, 26 Church St. Calais. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003 at the United Methodist Church, Calais, with Pastor Nancy Huntington officiating. Burial with military honors will be at the Round Pond Cemetery. Pastor Cody Stow will have prayers at the graveside. It is sad to see a husband, son, brother, and uncle leave us so unexpectedly. We will forever remember your funny jokes, the smile you brought to our faces and the love for life you showed to us all, but most of all Brian, we will miss your wonderful smile.
