LAMOINE – Bruce A. Sommer, 64, died unexpectedly June 21, 2008, in Lamoine. He was born Oct. 19, 1943, in Ellsworth, the son of Burr W. and Christine A. (Jones) Sommer. He attended Ellsworth High School and received his GED in Washington, D.C. Bruce was employed by Pittsburg DeMoine Steel Co., and Bethlehem Steel Co., welding on high rise water towers until he was disabled. He was a member of the boilermakers union. Bruce is survived by two sisters, Joan Broussard and husband, Robert, of Lamoine and Ruth Wilbur and husband, Lysle, of Lamoine and Hancock; and a nephew, Robert Wilbur and wife, Luana, of Ellsworth. Visiting hours for family and friends will be 5-6 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth, where a memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, June 26, with the Rev. Dr. David Henry officiating. A committal service will be after at Woodbine Cemetery, Ellsworth.
