SURRY – Carol Anne Cassatt, 66, died Dec. 10, 2004, at Blue Hill Memorial Hospital. She was born, Aug. 19, 1938, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Harry Frederick and Martha (Manthey) Glaum. Carol was very active in PEO in Bangor. She was the first woman to be commander of the U.S. Power Squadron (Bangor, Maine Chapter). She sailed across the Atlantic two times and about 16 times to the Caribbean and back. She was on the board of directors of Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Maine. Carol was a member of the High Street Congregational Church of Newport, and the South Brooksville Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, Robert; sons, Mark Dinsmore and wife, Caroline, of Winchester, Va., Michael Dinsmore and wife, Kristie, of Kalamazoo, Mich.; grandchildren, Lori, Rachael, Daniel, Anna; great-granddaughter, Vanessa; and a sister, H. Marilyn Vankat of Grand Rapids, Mich. She was predeceased by husbands, Rev. Terry Dinsmore, Edward Stone; a son, Dale in 1985; brothers, Russell Glaum, Donald Glaum, and Warren Glaum. Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, 2004, at the Blue Hill Congregational UCC Church.
