BANGOR – Carole J. Stacey, 55, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2007, at her home, after a long illness. She was born April 8, 1951, in Eastport, the daughter of Paul “Ted” and Lillian “Tilly” P. (Peters) Goodwin. Carole graduated from Bangor High School. She worked locally for many years as a waitress and continued on to property management. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her cat, “Max.” Carole was an avid collector of various knick-knack items. She also enjoyed showing and raising horses her entire life. She is survived and will be sadly missed by her son, Paul M. Lawrence and his wife, Mishelle, of Brooks; step-daughter, Melissa M. Hodgdon of Troy; sister, Mary Lou Schmidt and her husband, Ed, of Phoenix; niece, Sheryl Pownall of Peoria, Ariz.; and her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, George Goodwin; and her husband, Donald P. Lawrence. A graveside service will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, May 19, at Lincoln Cemetery, Lincoln.
