REVERE, Mass. – Thelma Harriett Small, 85, died Wednesday, March 21, 2007, at Anne Mark Nursing & Rehabilitation, after a brief illness. She was born Sept. 1, 1921, a daughter of Howard B. and Anna Cook Small in the Elms, currently known as the Publick House, Sturbridge, Mass., an inn operated at that time by her parents. She attended school in Corinna and Richmond. Miss Small made her home with her sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Joseph R. LaBeau, for many years, as they resided in Orono, Warwick, R.I., and recently in Revere, Mass. She was an ardent animal lover and was especially fond of dogs, horses and their care. She enjoyed traveling with her family as they toured the country. She was predeceased by a sister, Jean Dumont, formerly of Augusta; and a niece, Judith A. LaBeau of Revere, Mass. In addition to her sister, Lois LaBeau of Revere, Mass., she is survived by two brothers, Howard I. Small of Yarmouth and Ivan Ray Small of Brunswick; two nephews, Joseph R. LaBeau III of Revere, Mass., and Howard Small of Brunswick; and a niece, Jane Small Plante of Spofford, Mass. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal St., Brunswick, with the Rev. Ronald McLaughlin officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home 2-4 and 7-8 p.m. Saturday. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Brunswick, later in the spring. Condolences may be expressed at www.brackettfuneralhome.com
