EAST MACHIAS – Carrie L. Geel, 72, passed away Jan. 14, 2006, at her residence in East Machias. She was born April 1, 1933, in Blythe, Calif., the daughter of the late Horace and Laura (McCarthy) Johnson. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Geel and Robert Hukki of East Machias; granddaughter, Shannon of East Machias; great-grandchildren, Kristen and Paige; brothers, Donnie Johnson of Soldnota, Alaska, Johnnie Johnson of Reno, Nev. and Joe Johnson of St. Angelo, Texas; sister-in-law, Anna Geel and companion, Bill Griffin, of Gardners Lake; brother-in-law, Roger Geel and wife, Shirley, of Machiasport; sister-in-law, Jennie Griffin of Windsor, Conn.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Paul Geel Sr.; a son, Paul Geel Jr.; and a brother, Robert Johnson. Visiting hours will take place 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 18, at Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, 6 Cooper St., Machias. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, at the Eastside Cemetery in Machiasport.
