BANGOR – Robert “Bob” Goding, 71, died Jan. 14, 2006, at a Bangor healthcare center. He was born Sept. 7, 1934, in Bangor, the son of Lewis A. Goding and Althea G. (Carney) Goding. He attended Bangor schools and graduated from Bangor High School, Class of 1952. Bob served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years, then went to work for the former New England Telephone and Telegraph Company. He enjoyed spending summers at the home he built on Schoodic Lake for many years, where he enjoyed the outdoors and fishing. Bob had a circle of friends in that area that he especially enjoyed. Surviving are his mother, Althea Goding of Portland; four children, Gregory, Timothy, Randy, Michelle; a sister, Joanne Boswell of Portland and two nephews. Friends may call 2-3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2006, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. Private interment will be in the Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Augusta.
