BANGOR and LAKELAND, Fla. – Catherine T. Cosseboom, 81, died unex-pectedly on Oct. 3, 2004, at the Lakeland Regional Hospital, Lakeland, Fla. A contributing factor to her demise was the havoc wreaked by recent hurricanes in the region. Catherine was born on April 23, 1923, in Bangor, Maine, to James R. and Isa (Ryan) Taylor. Catherine graduated from Bangor High School in 1941. After attending Beals Business College, she was employed by Eastern Trust and Banking Company, then by the R.B. Dunning Company. At the end of World War II, Catherine married Kenneth Cosseboom of Brewer. Catherine lived most of her life in Bangor and Brewer. She was an active member of Patawa Club of Bangor. Catherine also belonged to the Penobscot Valley Country Club where she regularly enjoyed her favorite pastime, golf. She and Kenneth enjoyed spending summers at their cottage on Beech Hill pond for many years. In 1988, Catherine and Kenneth retired to Florida. After briefly living in Largo, they settled into their permanent home in Lakeland. They were members of the Cypress Lakes Golf Community where they enjoyed playing golf together year round. Catherine is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Kenneth; their cherished children, Jon Cosseboom of Bangor, Maida Mann and husband, Jeff, of North Carolina, and Karen Duley of Lakeland, Fla.; six grandchildren, Carrie, Katie, Eric, Joshua, Justin, Nicki; and one great-grandchild, Blake; her dearly loved sister-in-law, Sally Webster and husband, Al; several nieces and nephews, including her very special niece, Vicki. In addition to her family and those whose lives she touched in Florida, Catherine will be sorely missed by many old friends from her high school days. In particular, her loss will be deeply felt by her life-long friend, Elaine Winslow Bean, as well as “The Girls”. Catherine was predeceased in death by her parents, James and Isa; her sister, Betty Harvey; and her brother, J. Robert Taylor. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions to the Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fund of Florida would be greatly appreciated. Contributions may be sent to American Red Cross, Disaster Relief Fund, P.O.
