Dover-Foxcroft – Frank Herbert Pennington, 75, husband of Marilyn (Skillin) Pennington, died Sept. 3, 2004, at his home with his caring wife of 54 years and their son Jeffrey, at his side. Herb was born Aug. 26, 1929, in Garland, the son of Albert and Ethel (Hewett) Pennington. He graduated from Foxcroft Academy, Class of 1949, where he played football. He served with the U.S. Air Force for four years during the Korean War. A well-known and life long carpenter, Herb worked with Jim Harvey & Co., with a wonderful group of fellows. He later went carpentering on his own, and retired in 2001. Herb loved the outdoors, and the birds he built many houses for. He was a kind and caring person. He is survived by his wife Marilyn; and his son, Jeffrey, both of Dover-Foxcroft; two sisters, Letha Terry and her husband, Duane of Glen Burnie, Md., and Marlene Stich and her husband, Bernard of Athens, Ill.; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to call from 1 p.m. until time of funeral service at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2004, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft, with the Rev. Neil Gastonguay officiating. Burial will be in the family lot in Rural Grove Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the charity of one’s choice.
