BANGOR – Catherine Medeiros passed to a better place Wednesday, March 3, 2004, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 24, 1931, in Bangor, to Elizabeth Hughes. She was the special granddaughter of Alice and Martin Hughes and spent her childhood on their farm in Glenburn. Catherine was raised in part by five loving aunts, Mary Hughes Black, Katherine Hughes Sexton, Margaret Hughes Lewis, Alice Hughes Gallison, and her partner in “crime,” Hellie Hughes Pomeroy. She spent her adult life in New York where she raised her family. Catherine is survived by her husband, Richard; and eight children, Robert Dellairo and his children, Sherry, Mellissa, Kimberly, Nicole, Derek, Bob and Dominick; Sharon Ieva, her husband, Bob, and her son, Gerry; Michael Albanese and his spouse, Karena, and their children, Michael Jr. and Doug; Gary Albanese and his wife, Tina, and their children, April, Danielle and Gary; Kelly Maxwell-Weiller and her husband, Doug, and their children, Alexander and Charles Douglas; Cathy Frost and her husband, Joel, and their children, Shanna and Matthew Bailey; Todd Medeiros and his wife, Nina, and their children, Danielle, Francesco and Brianna; Jon Medeiros and his children, Ashley, Nicholas, Chelsea and Bianca; a brother, Harry Glazer; a daughter-in-law, Staci Medeiros; a son-in-law, Kent Bailey; several great-grandchildren; stepchildren; nieces; nephews; and cousins. She was predeceased by her mother; and aunts; and a very special cousin, Marilyn “Cuz” Gallant. Her wit, wisdom and smile will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered. Rest in peace Mom. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1 p.m. Friday, March 5, 2004, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 754 Ohio St., Bangor, with the Rev. Thomas Lequin, pastor, presider. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments following the services at daughter Cathy Frost’s residence, 81 Larkin St., Bangor.
