SOUTHINGTON, Conn. – Mr. Cecil “Cy” Grey, 79, of 174 Meriden Ave., South-ington, Conn., passed away Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007, surrounded by his loved ones at Hospital of St. Raphael, New Haven, Conn. He was the husband of Margaret “Peg” (Shea) Grey. Mr. Grey was born May 24, 1928, in Haynesville, and was raised by his grandparents, Herbert and Evie Smith. Mr. Grey was a veteran of the Korean War and was honorably discharged by the U.S. Air Force as a staff sergeant. Cy always loved hunting and was a huge Red Sox fan all his life. He supported his family, as an independent truck driver and later ended his career as a part-time employee in the mechanics garage at Bozzuto’s Inc., Cheshire, Conn., where he worked closely with friends and family. He is survived by his wife of 57 years and his five children, Eric Grey and his wife, Karen, of Cheshire, Conn., Mary Lanza and her husband, Peter, of Southington, Conn., Ann Grey and Lou Antonelli, Maurice Grey, and Ruth Grey, all of Southington, Conn.; his grandchildren, Charlie Grey of New Britain, Conn., Jennifer Humphrey and her husband, Jason, of Southington, Conn., Matthew Grey of Cheshire, Conn., Brandon Lanza of Southington, Conn., and Kalee Higgins-Grey of Prospect, Conn.; and his great-grandchild, Nathan Humphrey. He also leaves large amounts of friends and extended family from the Waterbury, Conn., and Maine areas. A memorial service will be held 4-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, Conn.
