FORT FAIRFIELD – Charlene A. (Ross) Lemire, 61, passed away Wednesday evening, Aug. 3, 2005, at a Presque Isle healthcare facility, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born June 27, 1944, in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Fredrick M. and Pauline “Bun” E. (Smith) Ross. She was a graduate of the Fort Fairfield High School, Class of 1963, was a communicant of the St. Denis Catholic Church, Fort Fairfield, and was married to Robert J. Lemire in 1971. Ms. Lemire was a former member of the Daughters of Isabella, Santa Maria Circle -No. 427, Fort Fairfield, and a member of the VFW Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187 Ladies Auxiliary, Fort Fairfield. She was predeceased by her parents; and she is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Shawn Hanscomb of Presque Isle; one brother and sister-in-law, Brian W. and Patricia Ross of Fort Fairfield; four grandchildren, Amanda E. Harvath of Fort Fairfield, Logan E. Harvath, Ethan B. Kidd, Stephanie Hanscomb, all of Presque Isle; special friend, Vernon Sharpe of Easton; nieces and nephews, Dianna Osgood, Danny and Donald Dufour, all of Fort Fairfield, David Dufour of Caswell, Debbie Brown of Wilcox, Ariz. Graveside services will be conducted 3:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, 2005, at the St. Denis Catholic Cemetery, Fort Fairfield, with the Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie officiating.
