OLD TOWN – Charles E. Mansur, 73, passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at an Orono nursing facility following a long illness. He was born Feb. 24, 1931, son of the late Charles Sr. and Audrey (Campbell) Mansur. Charles was a janitor for the University of Maine for 20 years and the City of Old Town as a small machine operator for 10 years. He worked various part-time jobs such as a bus driver and janitor for Cyr Bus Lines, a taxi driver and machine operator for Striars Textile Mill. He enjoyed watching movies and television especially country westerns and the “Curly O’Brian show”. He enjoyed classic cars and listening to country music especially “Lawrence Welk”. He is survived and will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 49 years, Connie; son, Scott Mansur and his companion, Brenda Gallant, of Alton; son, Terry Mansur of Ellsworth; daughters, Connie Mansur and Sheila Mansur, both of Old Town; daughter, Michelle Spencer and her husband, Scott of Milford; six grandchildren, Dustin and Jamie Gallant, both of Alton, Matthew and Benjamin Doucette, both of Old Town, Libby and Jonny Spencer, both of Milford; two brothers, James Mansur and William Mansur, both of Bangor; sister, Bonnie Parent and her husband, Ed, of Hampden; sister, Florence Jack and her husband, Don of Jacksonville, Mo.; two brothers-in-law, John Woods of Bucksport and Richard Woods of Orono; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Barry Kennedy of Alton. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, James J. Mansur and a sister, Ruth Townsend. Friends may call 2 p.m. until time of service Friday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, where a Celebration of Life will be conducted at 4 p.m. with the Rev.
