CHARLES G. ‘CURLEY’ TARR PATTEN – Charles G. “Curley” Tarr, 83, died Dec. 3, 2006, in Houlton. He was born Jan. 5, 1923, in Dyer Brook, the son of John and Josphine (Botting) Tarr. Curley was an avid hunter, fisherman and also enjoyed gardening. In addition to his wife of 62 years, Jean (Campbell) Tarr of Patten, he is survived by nine children, Carole and her husband, Harry Michaud, of Lee, Charles Jr. and his wife, Judy Tarr, of Nashua, N.H., Fred and his wife, Patsy Tarr, of Bangor, Kathy and her husband, Gary Horton, of Nova Scotia, Kenny and his wife, Brenda Tarr, of Hermon, Cindy and her husband, Randy Willigar, of Crystal, Stephen and his wife, Juanita Tarr, of Sherman, Lynn and her husband, Dennis Rush, of Patten, David and his wife, Jessica Tarr, of Brookline, N.H.; 24 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; his brother, Ervin of Oakfield; and two sisters, Athlyn Beranek of Iowa and Ruth Mitchell of Mars Hill; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Charles was predeceased by his parents; and two brothers, Warren and Bernard. Friends may call 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, at the Patten Pentecostal Church with a funeral service 1 p.m. with son-in-law, the Rev. Gary Horton; brother-in-law, Charlton Huntley; and Pastor Sam DeWitt officiating. Interment will be at Patten Cemetery.
