OLD TOWN – Charles Henry Tweedie, 66, passed away in the early morning of March 2, 2008, at his apartment. He was born Jan. 23, 1942, in Patten, the son of Arnold Addison and Virginia Claire (Main) Tweedie. Charles graduated from Governor Baxter School for the Deaf in 1961, and was a beloved member of the local deaf community. He was employed at W.A. Bean, Bangor, for 23 years before retiring last spring. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Helen (Stormann), daughter of Howard and Elsie Stormann; three children, Pamela Tweedie of New York and her daughter, Christiana Becker, Carrie Tweedie of Bangor, and Randy Tweedie of Raymond, N.H.; and two sisters, Donna Tweedie and Lynn Cyr, both of Bangor. Visiting hours will be held 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday, March 6, with a service starting 1 p.m. at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A reception will be held 2-5 p.m. Thursday at Stillwater Federated Church, Bennoch Road, to celebrate and honor Charles Tweedie’s life and memory. Notes of condolences can be made at www.mem.com.
