BAILEYVILLE – Chester Norman Sprague, 89, died Monday, March 21, 2005, at a Calais hospital, with his daughter and grandson by his side. Norman was born Aug. 9, 1915, in Calais, the son of Percey and Helen (Leighton) Sprague. Throughout his life, Norman worked as a self employed truck driver. He enjoyed watching wrestling and Ranger Walker. Surviving are three daughters, Rose Cochran of New Britain, Conn., Phyllis Marino and her husband, Joseph, of Southington, Conn., and Jane Sprague of Woodland; several grandchildren, including a special grandson, Ricky Sprague; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Ashby in 1974; and his brothers and sisters. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Mays Funeral Home, formerly Scott-Wilson Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Bernie Hammond officiating. A spring burial will be held in Woodland Cemetery, Baileyville.
