WINDHAM – Christine M. Murphy, 43, of Forbes Lane, died unexpectedly Wednesday, July 21, 2004, in Standish, as a result of an automobile accident. She was born in Bangor, the daughter of Leonild E. Sr. and Madeline M. (Montgomery) Murphy and attended local schools, graduating from Brewer High School in 1979. During high school she started working at Brewer Savings Bank, which became Maine Savings Bank. She went on to become Branch Manager at Maine Savings Bank in Bangor. After starting her family she became a fulltime “mom” and operated an in home day care. She then began a career in real estate, working for Coldwell Banker in Windham. She broadened her career and became an appraiser working for Integrated Loan Services in Scarborough. She enjoyed outdoor sports especially down hill skiing and water skiing. She competed in water skiing during high school. She was very involved with her children’s school and athletic activities, a very skilled seamstress and was talented at home remodeling. Surviving are her daughters, Jennifer C. York, Jessica E. York and their father, Brian York, all of Windham; a brother, Leonild E. Murphy Jr. of Orrington; sisters, Madeline M. Roberts of Orrington, Liana Murphy of Texas; her grandmother, Elsie Murphy of Brewer; and special Godfather, Ralph Mishou of Orrington; and many nieces and nephews. She will be remembered by a special friend, Tom Demski and lifelong friend, Lisa Hanson. She was predeceased by a brother, Matthew Murphy. A period of visitation will be held Monday from 10-11 a.m. at Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Road, Windham, where a funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday 11 a.m. at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, South Main St., Brewer. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a scholarship fund for her daughters at Gorham Savings Bank, Attn: Kelly McKeil, 766 Roosevelt Trail, Windham, ME 04062.
