BANGOR – Christopher Bruce Lamb, 58, beloved husband of Kathy Lamb; and father of Douglas and Gregory Lamb, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, July 5, 2007. He was born June 16, 1949, in the Bronx, N.Y., to Richard Gerard and Marilyn (Pritchard) Lamb. Chris and Kathy were married in 1970 and they lived and worked in New York until 1979, when they moved to Bangor. They shortly began raising a family; Chris working at what is now Verizon and Kathy as a nurse. He thoroughly enjoyed music, both performing and listening. He sang and played bass guitar in the local band, The Fairmounts and he was an avid concert-goer. Above all, Chris was a peaceful man. He firmly opposed the 2003 invasion of Iraq and he made every effort to attend demonstrations against the war, including recently in Kennebunkport, with his family. He had a keen sense of humor and incorporated laughter and comedy into all aspects of his life, including his personal relations. He was a good and safe driver. He loved to read and was quite fond of cats, to which he lovingly referred as “panthers.” In addition to his mother, Marylin, of Harwich, Mass.; and his loving family of Bangor, he is survived by his siblings, Elizabeth Lamb of Medford, Mass., Ricky Lamb of Pelham, N.Y., Monica Lamb of Old Westbury, N.Y., Ken Lamb of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father in 1995. A memorial Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, July 9, at St. John’s Catholic Church, York Street, Bangor, with the Very Rev. Richard McLaughlin, celebrant. Gifts in his memory may be made to WERU Radio, P.O. Box 170, East Orland, ME 04431. A service of Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor.
