NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. Marjorie “Marge” Hendrix passed unexpectedly, but peacefully, June 21, 2007, at home, where she had lived since 1963. She was born in 1932, at Portage Lake, to Carroll and June (Wilcox) Sutherland. Marge graduated from Ashland High School. Marjorie loved Portage and returned regularly, most recently to see her beloved lake in winter one more time. She was predeceased by her husband, Roy, in 1980, but leaves all four children and six grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. Stephen and wife, Jean, of Westboro, Mass., Gary “Dino” and wife, Kathy, of Grafton, Mass., David and wife, Darcie, of North Grafton, Mass., and daughter, Wanda and husband, Doug Johnson, of North Grafton, Mass., will all miss her helping hands and lively spirit. Grandchildren, Melissa, William, Rebecca, Samantha, Trevor and Corey, will miss their Gam, who always made each one feel special. Marge leaves her brother, Parker “Sonny” Sutherland of Portage and Northborough, Mass.; sister, Shirley Nason of Portage, Betty of Venice, Fla., and Florence MacLean of Prince Edward Island, Canada. She was predeceased by brothers, Richard, Rodney and William; as well as sisters, Opal and Phyllis. Services were held June 25, at Hays Funeral Home, Northborough, Mass., and she was laid to rest at Howard Street Cemetery, Northborough, Mass.
