SIMI VALLEY, Calif., and HAMPDEN – Christopher B. Lermond, 39, born Nov. 6, 1967, the son of Robert and Jeanne (Pecci) Lermond of Hampden, was taken to his heavenly home Oct. 26, 2007. Christopher graduated from Hampden Academy in 1986. Known by his friends for his unique mechanical abilities, Christopher pursued a career in engine and mechanical repairs. He was employed as a service manager by United Rentals, Canoga Park, Calif., where he specialized in large equipment repair. His hobbies were biking, four wheeling, gun collecting and marksmanship. Christopher is survived by his parents, Robert and Jeanne Lermond of Hampden; a brother, Richard Lermond of Woodstock, Ga.; a sister, Maria (Lermond) Gildroy and her husband, Michael; and nephews, Shaun and Nicholas of Simi Valley, Calif.; his maternal grandfather, Fred Pecci of Bath, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, at Community Church of the Open Door with Pastor Mark Fowler officiating.
