PERHAM – Christopher T. Snyder, 42, died unexpectedly Feb. 20, 2006, at Houlton. He was born March 6, 1963, at Mount Holly, N.J., the son of Tom and Joan (Cobb) Snyder. Chris moved to Maine with his family in 1972. Chris graduated from Washburn District High School in 1981 and he married Ellie (Bragg) Snyder, his high school sweetheart Nov. 27, 1982. Chris sold his first bunch of cows to buy his first truck. Chris started trucking right out of high school and did so successfully for a number of years. He and Ellie then went into business with his parents, Roger and Joan Connolly. They formed a partnership and a number of corporations and land trust. Chris acted as vice president of Tough End Logging, Corp. and Connolly and Snyder, Inc., and owned one-half interest in Stockholm Reality Trust. More recently they left the construction and logging business to start and build a dairy herd that Chris had always dreamed of. For economic reasons Chris left the farm he loved and went back to trucking. Chris loved life and had lots of dreams. He loved his family, riding his Harley and farming. Chris leaves behind his mother, Joan and her husband, Roger M. Connolly, of Perham; his father, Tom and his wife, Joann Snyder, of Minnesota; his wife, Ellie and two children, Lacey Jane Snyder and Wade Bragg Snyder; a brother, Greg Snyder and his wife, Stina; sister, Jeanne Snyder, all of Perham and sister, Jill Snyder and her companion, Cory Van Meekeren, of Minnesota; three nephews, Josh and Zack Wain and Jacob Snyder, all of Perham; and one niece, Clara Van Meekeren of Minnesota; his stepbrothers, Terry Connolly and his wife, Trish and family of Dresden, R. Wayne Connolly and his wife, Linda and boys and Patty and her husband, Dale Doody and son, all of Perham; many aunts, uncles and in-laws and many friends with three special friends, George Jordan Jr. “Bud,” Jeff Morin and Mark Malinchuck. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday, at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, from the chapel of the funeral home. Spring interment will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Perham.
