OLD TOWN – Clara M. (Hildreth) Shaw, 89, wife of the late Kenneth Shaw, died peacefully Jan. 19, 2004, at an Orono healthcare facility. She was born Nov. 8, 1914, in Milford, a daughter of Ferdinand and Alwilda (Stetson) Hildreth. Clara was one of 14 children of the Hildreth family of Milford. She led a quiet life and her family was important to her. She enjoyed fishing the many streams in the area with her husband. She is survived by two children, Sandra Vigue and her husband, Philip, of Nashua, N.H., and Robert Shaw and his wife, MaryAnn, of Skowhegan; three grandchildren, Kathleen Curtis and her husband, Carleton, of Levant, Michael Vigue and his wife, Brenda, of Lincolnville, Jennifer Richman and her husband, Jack, of Litchfield, N.H.; four great-grandchildren, Hannah Vigue, Clara Mae Richman, Janelle Davis and Ryan Haulk; one great-great-grandson, Alec Davis; three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Priest, Mary Hildreth and Grace Hildreth; special niece, Dorothy Shorette of Milford; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth, in 1973; and 13 siblings. At her request there will be no services at this time. A graveside service will be conducted at Evergreen Cemetery, Bradley, at the convenience of the family.
