BREWER and PORT ORANGE, Fla. – Clare H. Reed, 74, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 6, 2004, at her home in Port Orange, Fla. She was born Clare Edith Henry on Nov. 18, 1928, at Unity, the daughter of Walter B. Henry and Edith May Young. She resided in Brewer for many years working for the Brewer school lunch programs and as record keeper for Reed’s Auto Body Shop. She loved to knit, solve crossword puzzles, golf and had many friends at the Lakeview Golf Club in Unity. Clare is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Gardner E. Reed. She was a loving mother to her three children, David and his wife, Patricia, of Orrington; Cheryl and her husband, Thomas Lynch, of Hermon, and Carol and her husband, Timothy Archer, of Brewer. She also leaves a sister, Mary in Long Island, N.Y.; and a brother, Robert in Winslow; as well as eight grandchildren, Scott Reed, Patrick Reed, Rebecca Reed, Jonathan Archer and Justin Archer, T.J. Lynch, Sean Lynch and Scott Lynch. Private services will be held in the spring. Gifts in Clare’s memory may be sent to the American Diabetes Association, 1101 N.
