CHAPMAN – Clarence E. Knight, 85, died Wednesday March 30, 2005, at a Mars Hill healthcare facility. He was born March 30, 1920, at Presque Isle, the son of Linwood and Nina (Brown) Knight. He owned and operated his potato farm for many years, and developed the first rock picker with a self contained hopper. Clarence was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved the outdoors; an avid fisherman, hunter, and gardener. He is survived by his wife, Arline (Kenney) Knight, of Chapman; three sons and their wives, Tarry and Emily Knight of Chapman, Larry and Sharron Knight of Caribou, Eugene and Heidi Knight of Presque Isle; a daughter, Sara Raymond and her husband, David, of Mapleton; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Tara and Michael Matthews, Shannon Knight, Lori and Kent Phair, Melissa and Bryan Thompson, Seth and Katrina Knight, Jacob and Mindy Knight, Christopher, Isaac, and Dara Raymond; three great- grandchildren; Kolby Knight, Sydney and Landon Thompson. He was predeceased by two brothers, Alfred and Bernard Knight. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 2, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, with the Rev. James Ackerson, officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home 10 a.m. until time of service. Spring interment will be at Johnson Cemetery Presque Isle.
