SULLIVAN – Leo Vincent Leise Jr., 86, died at home March 30, 2005, his 65th wedding anniversary. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., was a former resident of Edison, N.J., and resided in Sullivan for more than 15 years. Mr. Leise was employed for more than 40 years by Mobil Chemical CCD of Edison, retiring in 1984. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, stationed in Cherry Point, N.C., California and Hawaii. Mr. Leise was a former member of the Knights of Columbus and a founding member of St. Matthew’s Roman Catholic Church in Edison, N.J. Mr. Leise was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, and a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was the son of the late Edna (Grant) and Leo V. Leise Sr. He was predeceased by his brothers, Richard and Fred; and sisters, Lillian Staniszewski and Dorothy Gupton. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Helen (Urban) Leise; sons, Fr. Leo V. Leise, S.J. of New Orleans, La.; and Timothy F. Leise and his fianc?e, Ivy Rasco, of Sullivan; daughter, Patricia Spano and her husband, Ronald, of Edison; grandsons, Jeffrey Spano and his wife, Debra, of Parlin, N.J., Major Daniel Spano, U.S.M.C. and his wife, Beth, of New Bern, N.C., and Matthew Leise, of Sullivan; great-grand-daughters, Abigail and Meredith Spano of Parlin, N.J.; sister, Edna Christie and her husband, Duncan, of Kissimmee, Fla., and brother, William Leise, of Kissimmee, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.
