PRESQUE ISLE – “Hobby” Horace H. Higgins II, 69, died Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at a Presque Isle healthcare facility. He was born Dec. 14, 1935, in Mapleton, the son of Clifton and Mildred (Arbo) Higgins. He was a graduate of Mapleton High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He had been self-employed as a potato farmer and also worked for Jeffrey and Owen Smith Farms for many years. In addition to his parents, Hobby was predeceased by one brother, Charles Higgins; one sister, Jackie Griffin. He is survived by three sons, Scott Wilson and his wife, Greta, of Presque Isle, Brian Wilson of Ashland, Kevin Wilson of Mapleton; two daughters, Ramona Cocheran and Sherida Wilson, both of Presque Isle; one sister, Janet Dicker of Mars Hill; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, including special nephew, Billy Higgins of Tolland, Conn. In keeping with Hobby’s wishes, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, those who choose may contribute in memory of Hobby to Scott Wilson, 33 Elm St., Presque Isle, ME 04736, to be contributed to charities of Hobby’s wishes. Arrangements are in the care of the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.
