OLD TOWN – Clarence J. Theriault Sr., 81, passed away Monday, April 26, 2004, at a Bangor hospital, following a brief illness. He was born Feb. 1, 1923, in Old Town, son of the late Joseph and Imelda (LeVallie) Therriault. Clarence was in the U.S. Army serving in World War II. He was employed with Georgia Pacific for 38 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of the Old Town VFW Post No. 3381, the Orono American Legion Post No. 84, the Eagles Club of Brewer, and he was a member of Holy Family Parish in Old Town. Clarence was a people person and loved spending time with his friends and family especially his weekly ritual visits to his daughter, Donna. He enjoyed visits to the coast and camping, especially Lamoine State Park. He is survived and will be sadly missed by a very special friend and loving companion, Ruby Therriault of Milford; son, Clarence Theriault Jr. and his wife, Paulette, of Milford; son, Bruce Theriault and his wife, Brenda, of Old Town; daughter, Donna Hurd of Bangor; 10 grandchildren, C.J. Theriault III, Wendi Smith, Jennifer Nevells, Bruce Theriault Jr., Elwin Hurd Jr., Jeff Hurd, Kerry Hurd, Glen Hurd, Craig Hurd and Kathy Hurd; 17great-grandchildren, Clarence IV, Savannah, Justina, Elwin III, Paige, Britany, Tyler, Tristen, Hunter, Haley, Hannah, Kerry, Zachary, Victoria, Alyssa, Gabriele and Diana; sister, Irene St.Peter of Connecticut; sister, Louise Charette of Bangor; brothers, Robert Therriault of New Hampshire, Louis Therriault of Ohio; brother, Gerard Richard of Old Town; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Dorothy; four brothers, Peter Therriault, Wilfred Therriault, Alfred Therriault and Ernest Therriault; a sister, Delia Berube. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, where the VFW will conduct a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. and a celebration of life will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Normand Richard officiating. Committal service will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery in Old Town, immediately following the service.
