PRINCETON – Clarence “Kay” E. Mallory died Oct. 13, 2007, surround-ed by his family after a long ill-ness, at Calais Regional Hospital. Kay was born Dec. 1, 1918, in Codyville, to the late Nola Bailey Mallory and Bernard Mallory. Kay was a longtime resident of Princeton and was a World War II veteran, serving in Europe. He was a longtime member of Princeton Rod & Gun Club, a member of the Free Masons and enjoyed a 37-year career as a grader operator for Georgia Pacific. Kay was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved being on his boat and camping at Elsemore’s Landing. No one enjoyed a sunrise and sunset more then Kay. Kay will be remembered as a loyal friend, dedicated family man and great outdoorsman, who had a great smile and was always charming to the ladies. He was predeceased by his wife, Persis “Peggy” Day Mallory; a son, Richard D. Mallory; and a granddaughter, Wendy Mallory Yates. He is survived by his three sons and daughters-in-law, Kenny and Karen Sprague of Grand Lake Stream, David and Debbie Mallory of Las Vegas and Dean and Karen (Bacon) Mallory of Durham, N.H.; three grandchildren, Adam Mallory, Jason Mallory and Betsy Mallory; three great-grandchildren; two nieces, Margie Neal and Helen Petite; and two nephews, Gene and Hazen Mallory.
