LYNDONVILLE, VT. – Clarence L. Pratt, 85, died Nov. 28, 2003, at his home in Lyndonville, Vt. He was born in Dexter Nov. 29, 1917, the son of Harold and Cora (Campbell) Pratt. On June 23, 1941, he married Louise Bickford and they were married until her death Jan. 30, 1999. He graduated from the University of Maine with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in education. He was a teacher and principal in schools in Hermon, Harrington, and East Corinth. In 1961 he moved to Winslow and was a salesman for New York Life Insurance Company until his retirement in 1980. He was a member of the Lynde Lodge No. 174 F & A.M. of Hermon, which he joined on Sept. 29, 1945. Clarence and Louise retired to Port Orange, Fla., and leave many friends there. They also summered at their home in Winslow. He loved hunting, fishing, and particularly his camp on Moosehead Lake. He was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Gwen Lemelin; a brother, Virgil Pratt; and his devoted wife, Louise. He is survived by two daughters; Sat Inder Kaur Khalsa (Gail) and her husband, Karta Purkh Singh Khalsa, and Donna Edwards and her husband, Thomas, three granddaughters, Karen McCalla and her husband, Scott, Debra Edwards, and Guru Shabd Kaur Khalsa. A memorial service will be held in the summer of 2004 and will be announced in the Bangor Daily News at a later date. Burial will be in the family lot at Snow’s Corner Cemetery.
