ORONO – Clarence Nelson Myers, 84, died Jan. 27, 2008, in Milford after a brief illness. He was born July 14, 1923, in Orono, the son of Joseph L. and Daisy A. (Nelson) Myers. Clarence graduated from Orono High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, stationed in Europe. Clarence worked at the paper mill in Old Town for many years retiring in 1986. He was a loving and dedicated brother that devoted his entire life to the proper care of a developmentally disabled sister. He was an avid New England Patriots and Chicago White Sox fan. He is survived by a brother, Arthur Myers of Orono; the family he resided with, a nephew, George Myers of Orono; a niece, Brenda Myers of Milford; a great-niece, Jamie Myers of Milford; and many other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Clarence was predeceased by his brothers, George Myers, Jonathan Myers, Joseph Myers, Robert Myers and Alexander Myers; and three sisters, Greta Cote, Marjorie Hobbie and Barbara Myers. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Brookings-Smith, LaBeau Chapel, 72 Main St., Orono, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, with the Rev. David Gant, chaplain of Beacon Hospice, officiating. Interment will be in the spring at Riverside Cemetery, Orono. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments after the service at Bev Myers home, 10 Beech St., Orono.
