FORT KENT – Claude R. Pinette, 82, died June 13, 2005, at a Fort Kent hospital. He was born Feb. 25, 1923, in Fort Kent, the son of Fabien and Modeste (Laferriere) Pinette. He was a past member of the VFW Lozier O’Grady Post No. 9609, American Legion and the Knights of Columbus Council No. 1934, all of Fort Kent. He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was the manager of Kent, Inc., formerly Princess Kent until his retirement in 1986. Prior to Kent, Inc., he was a carpenter for 10 plus years. Claude was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed vacationing at his home in Florida while his health allowed him. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Gertrude Bellefleur Pinette of Fort Kent; two sons, Dana Pinette, Peter and his wife, Sandra Pinette, of Fort Kent; three grandchildren, Justin Pinette of Millinocket, Danielle Pinette, Jonathan Pinette and their mother, Rose Marie Pinette, all of Fort Kent; one sister, Simone Pierce of Clinton; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Patrick Pinette; three sisters, Eva Gould, Cecile Michaud and Juliette Fogelin. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, at the Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent, and 8 a.m. Thursday until time of service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday at the St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent, with the Rev. Claude Gendreau officiating. Committal services with full military honors will be celebrated in the parish cemetery.
