CLAUDETTE G. PICARD MILBRIDGE and MIDDLETOWN, Ohio – Claudette G. Picard, 71, died unexpectedly Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003, at an Ellsworth hospital. She was born Dec. 20, 1931, in Fort Kent, the daughter of Elbridge and Sylvia (Chasse) Gagnon. Claudette was a member of St. Michael’s Parish in Cherryfield, and the Holy Family Parish in Middletown, Ohio. She was a co-founder and vice president of Picard Paper Processing in Middletown, Ohio, a business which Claudette and her husband, William, operated for many years before selling it to their sons, who continue to operate it. In September, with the help of their family and friends, Claudette and William celebrated their 50-years of marriage with a small gathering at their home in Milbridge. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, William Picard Jr. and his wife, Anne Marie, of Liberty Township, Ohio, Daniel J. Picard, and Phillip Picard and his wife, Dana, all of Middletown, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Connie King and her husband, Zack, Marc and Michael Picard, Daniel J. Picard Jr., Laura Picard, Stephanie Picard, Amy Picard and Bryan Picard; two sisters, Jeanine Pelletier and her husband, Elmer, of Fort Kent, Sally Ann Gagnon of Burlington, Vermont; two brothers, Michael Gagnon and his wife, Mary, of Fort Kent, and Elbridge Gagnon Jr. of Orient; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends are invited to visit with the family 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Milbridge. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9 a.m. Monday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Cherryfield, with the Rev. Michael Sheridan, celebrant. Memorial services will be held in Middletown, Ohio, at a date to be announced. Interment will be private. Gifts in memory of Claudette may be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, P.O.
