LINCOLN – Clayton Eugene Gerry, 87, husband of Phyllis (Arsenault) Gerry, died Feb. 23, 2006, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Feb. 9, 1919, in Lincoln, the son of Harold and Grace (Rushton) Gerry. Clayton graduated from Mattanawcook Academy in 1936. In his younger years he played a lot of baseball. He was a World War II veteran of the 3rd Army Artillery in Europe. He then worked at Lincoln Pulp and Paper for 47 years. In addition to his wife, Phyllis of Lincoln; he is survived by two sons, Christopher of Irvington, N.Y. and Wesley of Iowa City, Iowa; a grandson, Eric of Schenectady, N.Y.; and a sister-in-law, Melba Gerry of Lincoln. He was predeceased by two sisters, Faye Darling and Grace Stevens; and two brothers, Floyd and Harold Gerry. At his request, there will be no services.
