ORLAND – Clifford Francis Doolan, Jr., 35, died unexpectedly Jan. 20, 2004, at a Bangor hospital, after a brief illness. He was born Dec. 5, 1968, in Camden, the son of Clifford F. and Sharon (Littlefield) Doolan, Sr. Cliff was a 1987 graduate of Emmanuel Baptist Academy, and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the Evangelical Baptist Church, Bucksport, where he served as deacon. He owned Mullen’s Old Fashioned Ice Cream Concession, and would travel to various fairs in the state to sell his delicious homemade ice cream. He was a talented carpenter, working with Stan Leach for many years, and most recently on his own. A master of all trades, he was mechanically inclined, loved to work on his vehicles, and was currently taking electrical courses at Eastern Maine Community College. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Cliff was a loving husband and wonderful father who was looking forward to greeting a new baby within days. Clifford is survived by his wife of 10 years, Michelle D. (Watt) Doolan, and their son, Clayton, of Orland; his parents, Sharon and Ernie Ladd of Searsmont; sister, Jodelle Benson and husband, George, of Rockport; brother, Brett Ladd of Searsmont; grandmother, Francis Newell of Liberty; mother and father-in-law, Loretta and Gerald Watt of Verona; sister-in-law, Nanette Smith and husband, Stephen, of Massachusetts; brother-in-law, Daniel Watt of Orland; grandparents-in-law, Murray and Maxine Chatto of Verona, and Delma Watt of Perry; nephews, Anthony Benson, and John Smith; niece, Kathryn Smith; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; many special friends. Clifford was predeceased by his father, Clifford F. Doolan, Sr. in 1969; grandparents, Clifford Doolan, Lila and Laroy Littlefield; niece, Anna Smith. Visitation for family and friends will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, 2004, at the Evangelical Baptist Church, Bucksport, where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, with Pastor Michael Donato officiating.
