BUCKSPORT – Constance “Connie” Elizabeth (Marston) Tweedie, 93, passed away surrounded by her family, Thursday, March 16, 2006, after a brief illness. She was born Feb. 2, 1913, in Millinocket, the daughter of Chester and Margaret (Farquhar) Marston. Connie was a graduate of Stearns High School, Millinocket and moved to Bucksport with her husband, Robert B. Tweedie, in 1944. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She especially enjoyed spending time at Craig Pond and Toddy Pond, where she enjoyed many hours fishing, swimming and spending time with her family. She shared fond memories of time spent at Millinocket Lake with her parents and siblings. She was an excellent bridge player and enjoyed her time with her dear friends, including many at the Bucksport Senior Citizens Center. She is survived by sons, Chester Tweedie and his wife, Sylvia, of Surry, Brian Tweedie and his wife, Betty, of Bucksport; daughters, Jean Mercer and her husband, Bob, of Bucksport, Julee Hallowell and her husband, Brian, of Calais; sisters, Shirley Walls, and Emily Pound and her husband, Ozzie, of Millinocket; grandchildren, Pam Tweedie Malo and her husband, Paul, of Bangor, Debbie Coffin of Machiasport, Doug Tweedie of Orland, David Tweedie and his wife, Kelly, of Orland, Linda T. Wight and her husband, Ray, of Orland, Todd Mercer and his wife, Fawn, of Auburn, Shawn Mercer and his wife, Molly, of Orland, Jennifer H. Krygowski and her husband, David, of Albany, N.Y., Cara M. Audibert and her husband, Kevin, of Dedham, Gregory Hallowell of Roslindale, Mass., Amy H. Hayes and her husband, Derek, of Franklin; a multitude of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; several special nieces and nephews. Connie was predeceased by her husband, Robert B. Tweedie in 1976; brother, Roland Marston. A celebration of Connie’s life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, March 19, at the Orland United Methodist Church, with Pastor Peter Remick officiating. A gathering of conversation and refreshment will follow in the Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Orland United Methodist Church, P.O.
