BREWER – Constance “Connie” Y. Millett, 85, died surrounded by her family, June 9, 2004, at her residence in Brewer. She was born March 10, 1919, in Norway, ME, the daughter of Philip G. and Bertha (Sessions) Young. Connie graduated from Norway High School in 1936 and from the University of Maine with a B.S. in Home Economics in 1940. In 1941, she married the love of her life, Elwood D. Millett. She taught school in Stonington, Connecticut, Orrington, and Brewer. Connie was a member of the First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, in Brewer. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Elwood D. Millett; a son, Stephen E. Millett and wife, Nadine, of Brewer; a daughter, Linda Hatch and husband, Michael, of Corinth; grandchildren, Scott Millett of Yarmouth, Jeffery Millett and wife, Amy, of San Antonio, Texas, Laura Hunt and husband, Chris, of Dracut, Mass., Jonathan Hatch and wife, Kristy, of Greenville, S.C.; a sister, Janice Hughes and husband, Nick, of Atlanta, Ga.; a brother-in-law, Paul Brown of Norway, Me.; nieces, Kathy Clegg, of Georgia, Hope Pribram and husband, John, of Auburn, Ann Lowrey of Gaithersburg, Md.; nephew, Thomas Hughes, and wife, Laura, of St. Louis, Mo. Friends are invited to a Gathering of Remembrance, 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 11, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 S. Main St., Brewer. A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, at the First Congregational Church of Brewer, 35 Church St., Brewer, with the Rev. Constance S. Chase Wells, officiating.
