CORINNA – Crosby “Cobby” Anson Eaton, 90, died Oct. 10, 2004, at a Bangor healthcare facility. He was born Nov. 24, 1913, at Exeter, a son of Howard and Melvina (Rafter) Eaton. He was a long-time resident of Corinna and was employed at the Eastland Woolen Mill for many years, retiring in 1976. Together with his wife, Lilla, he enjoyed traveling and spent several winters in Zephyrhills, Fla. Cobby enjoyed getting together with family at his Center Pond camp in Sangerville, and especially looked forward to taking his grandchildren fishing. He often mentioned to his family and friends how much he liked the quiet time at camp listening to the rain on the roof and fishing for white perch. He also looked forward to hunting and fishing trips to the Chesuncook area and Moosehead Lake with his buddies. He attended Morse’s Corner Baptist Church for many years. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Lilla (Bragg) Eaton of Corinna; a son, Kenneth Eaton of Leesburg, Fla.; two daughters and their husbands, Loraine and Carl Palmer of Exeter, Maxine and Jay Wheeler of Mt. Ida, Ark.; eight grandchildren, Reginald and wife, Sharon Palmer, Rick Palmer and fianc?e, Susan Spear, DeAnna and husband, Peter Hartel, Susan Eaton, Wendi and husband, Johnny Gwinn, Bonnie Martin, Brenda and husband, Gary Crane, Jason and wife, Alicia Wheeler; 11 great-grandchildren, Marci and husband, Devon, Ross, Luke, Ashley P., Ashley M., Lauren, Jenna, Kayla, Tracy, Corban, and Bradley. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, at Cornerstone Baptist Church, Exeter, with Pastor Stan Griffin and Pastor Clarence Arno officiating. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be in Morses Corner Cemetery, Corinna. A luncheon buffet and time of fellowship will be held at the Cornerstone Baptist Church following the committal service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Morses Corner Baptist Church, care of Mr. Ray Blaisdell, Treasurer, 179 Greenbush Road, Corinna, ME 04928.
