BROOKS – Daisy Fern Gibbs, 81, passed away Feb. 10, 2007, at Mayo Regional Hospital. She was born Aug. 15, 1925, in Troy, the daughter of Harry and Nora (Meservey) Hamlin. For most of her life she and her husband, Harold, owned and operated a dairy and poultry farm. Daisy enjoyed a variety of flowers and vegetable gardens. She was always known for reciting the alphabet backwards to her grandchildren. She was an avid reader, enjoying her daily newspaper. She was predeceased by her husband Feb. 18, 1989; sister, Avis; three brothers, Basil, Cecil and Harry Jr. She is survived by one sister, Mildred Paul and her husband, Owen; four children, David Gibbs and his wife, Jane, Robert Gibbs and his wife, Beth, Sam Gibbs and his wife, Paula, and Patricia Crawford and her husband, Robert; grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Kevin and Lorrie Gibbs, Emily and Paul Blaisdell, Lasha and Eric Schoefell, Heidi Gibbs, Kyle and Katie Gibbs, Sara Gibbs, Brent Baker, Scott Gibbs and Wendy Gibbs; nine great- grandchildren, as well as, several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. with the Rev. Matt Shaw officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
