SOUTHWEST HARBOR George C. Hall, 70, died Feb. 6, 2007. He was born May 25, 1936, in New-castle, the son of the late George Hall and Eunice Brown Gilley. George graduated in 1955 from Pemetic High School and then joined the U.S. Coastal Geodetic Services, now N.O.A.A. and served two terms in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Tremont Lodge No. 77 and the Anah Temple Shrine. He owned a service station on Clark Point Road, and later built his own garage in 1984, where he remained active until his death. George loved snowmobiling and was an avid NASCAR fan. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Sheila Ann Farrell Hall; daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Steve Butler of Seal Cove; sons, George Jr. and Robert “Bobby” Hall of Southwest Harbor; two very special grandchildren, Ebony Hall and Dylan Butler; sister, Beverly Murphy; and sister-in-law, Paula Farrell. He was blessed with many great friends and close friends, Nick and Rich, were by his side during his last month. He was predeceased by his parents; stepfather, George Gilley; and brother, Jerry Gilley. There will be no public services at this time. The family will have graveside services in the spring. In celebration of his life, family and friends are invited to gather 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Feb. 17, at his home.
