ST. FRANCIS – Dale Arthur Morris, 72, died peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, Feb. 13, 2004. He was born Nov. 12, 1931, in St. Francis, the son of Lyle E. and Ethel (Connors) Morris. Dale was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War and served in the National Guard for 18 and a half years. He also worked in a telephone career for 30 years, starting in 1956 when he joined the Fort Kent Telephone Co. He loved hunting and fishing, and was well known for his story telling of his many adventures. Dale is survived by his loving wife, Dallas (Kelly) Morris of St. Francis; nine children, Twyla Watson and her husband, Clyde, Hallie Humphrey and her husband, Todd, all of Fryburg, Lyle Morris and his wife, Violette of Woburn, Mass., Leonard Morris and his wife, Rachel, of Waldoboro, Mass., Kelly Kiester and her husband, Greg, of Fremont, Mich., Donn Morris and his wife, Stephanie, of Fort Kent, Hale Morris and his wife, Jennifer, of Rockland, Marla Morris and her fianc‚, Eric Brann, and Myah Tabbutt and her husband, Don, all of Warren; 16 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Dale was predeceased by his parents; and his twin brother, Donn David Morris. Friends and relatives may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16, and 12 noon Tuesday until time of services, at St. Paul’s Congregational Church, St. Francis, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, with the Pastor Gary Gardner of the Mountain View Bible Church of Eagle Lake, and the Pastor John Dik of the Allagash Baptist Church, Allagash, officiating. Spring burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate in his memory to the St. Paul’s Congregational Church of St. Francis or the Allagash Baptist Church of Allagash.
