SIDNEY – Dale H. Harvey, 74, of West River Road, died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2007, surrounded by his family at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Augusta. He was born July 22, 1932, in Springfield, the son of Francis and Alice (Worster) Harvey. Dale was raised and attended school in Howland. For the last 30 years, he has lived in Sidney. He was the jack of all trades and the master of one. He was a trained expert in furnace repair and air conditioning. He spent more than 50 years in his field of expertise, often working for free to help families in need, as well as his own family. Dale was truly a master oil burner technician. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion Post, Danville, N.J. Apart from his family and friends, Dale’s greatest love was of the outdoors. He often visited far northern Maine, the place of his birth, to go hunting, fishing and ride the trails with his beloved brother, sisters, nephews and sons. His love of the great outdoors and family was unyielding. Dale was forever a devoted son, father, brother, uncle and grandfather and will be remembered by all he touched. His motto was relaxation. He was predeceased by his parents; a daughter, Jade; sisters, Frances, Marjorie and Juanita; brothers, Eben, Harland and Richard; and a stepson, Robert. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Harvey of West Gardiner; two sons, Dale Harvey Jr. and Greg Harvey and his wife, Shannon, both of Norwood, Mass.; two daughters, Victoria Ramsay and her husband, Tim, of Gardiner and Jessica Theriault and her husband, Mike, of West Gardiner; two sisters, Polly Campbell of Sidney and Shirley Burgess and her husband, Richard, of Sidney; a brother, Delmont Harvey and his wife, Sandra, of Lakeville; grandchildren, Peter, Tessa, Nicole, Gregory, Nicholas, Alicia, Gabrielle, Nathaniel, Jacob, Jeremy and Brianne; stepchildren, Elizabeth York and Chris Gendreau; many nieces, nephews, cousins; and a good friend, Edward. Visiting will be held 1-2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, One Church Street, Augusta, where a funeral service will be held 2 p.m. after the visiting hour. Spring burial will be at Wall Cemetery, Augusta.
