PRESQUE ISLE – Dana E. McGlauflin, 84, died May 6, 2007, at a local hospital. He was born Sept. 5, 1922, in Presque Isle, the son of Harvey and Georgia (Wray) McGlauflin. Dana was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Presque Isle. He had been the business manager at Northern Maine Technical College, Presque Isle, for more than 20 years. Dana served in the merchant marines during World War II and was a member of Hayward-Frazier Post No. 2599 VFW, Ray Goding Post No. 88 American Legion, the PROBIS Club, the Valley Investment Club, and was an active supporter of the Presque Isle Homeless Shelter and the Presque Isle Humane Society. He was predeceased by his wife, Katherine C. McGlauflin; brothers, Merle and Earl McGlauflin; and a sister, Irene Capen. Surviving him is a son, Daniel McGlauflin of Waterville; daughters, Kathryn Chandler and her husband, Kyle, of Mapleton, Mary Hill and her husband, Grady, of Texas, and Carol Brown and her husband, Paul, of Louisiana; one brother, Carl McGlauflin and his wife, Kay, of Presque Isle; a sister-in-law, Patricia McGlauflin of Presque Isle; several grandchildren including special grandsons, Logan, Lucas, Derrick, and Cole; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Main Street, Presque Isle, with the Rev. Raymond Morency, celebrant. Military committal services will be held after at St. Mary’s Chapman Street Cemetery. Gifts in his memory may be made to St. Mary’s Social Action Fund.
