SPRINGFIELD – Peter Beebe-Lawson, 50, died May 7, 2007, in Springfield. He was born March 18, 1957, in Portland, the son of Albert M. and Gloria M. (Peaslee) Lawson. Peter was a volunteer of the Springfield Fire Department. He was a founding member of Mary’s Ward, a religious community founded by Peter and Selby. Peter was on the board of directors for two non profit organizations, SonLight, Inc., and Arts Conservatory Theater and Studio. Along with his wife, Selby, Peter administered the Hank Beebe Music Library. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, John Paul II Council, Portland. He enjoyed raising goats, chickens, dogs, cats, and rabbits. He performed with Embassy Players, a community theater group in Portland. Peter loved to sing and help people and loved being a dad to his stepchildren. Peter was very active in his Roman Catholic faith. He is survived by his wife, Selby Beebe-Lawson; three stepchildren, John Vail, David Vail, and Christa Vail, all of Springfield; siblings, Elizabeth Lawson-Gill of San Jose, Calif., Christina Linscott of Portland, Jonathan Lawson of Brownville, Kathleen Lawson of Portland, and David Lawson of Ontario, Canada; several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday at St. James Catholic Church, Kingman, with the Rev. Roger Cyr, presiding. Interment will be at Mary’s Wood Cemetery, Springfield.
