BREWER and SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Michael Dean McDonald passed away Sunday, April 29, 2007, surrounded by his family after a long illness. He was born Jan. 25, 1951. He was raised in Springfield, Mo., and graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1969. He relocated to Maine in 1977, where he worked for years as an auto mechanic at Pine State Volkswagon, Beacon Cadillac and finally at Varney GMC, Bangor. Mike loved hunting, fishing, was an avid collector of many kinds of guns, knives, coins and NASCAR memorabilia. He was a fan of Dale Ernhart Sr. and loved to watch the NASCAR races. He enjoyed country and bluegrass music and will always be remembered for his dry sense of humor. He was also a member of the Elks Club in Bangor and Springfield, Mo. He is survived by his mother, LoDema McDonald; his older brother, Alec and his wife, Nancy McDonald; younger bother, Keith and his girlfriend, Linda Carter, all of Springfield, Mo.; his two children, Kellie Boyd of Dedham and Lori McDonald of Standish; four grandchildren, Amanda, Alyssa, Jacob and Nicholas. He was predeceased by his father, Warren McDonald. A family service was held May 2, in Springfield, Mo.
